You might have purchased the new iPhone 11 or the iPhone 11 Pro, but new predictions from the TF Securities analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, the show says new iPhone models are launching in 2020.
Mr. Kuo predicts that four of the five iPhones will have 5G support and he also anticipates an iPhone SE2 debut within the first half of the New Year featuring a 4.7-inch LCD and a single-lens rear camera, without 5G support.
Four New iPhone Models by 2021
As per Kuo, the other four models include the iPhone 12, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max, which would have 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.7-inch OLED displays, respectively. It will either a dual-lens or a triple-lens rear camera — all with 5G support.
Kuo also expects the five new phones to be available in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Korea, and in the U.K.
Yet another report from 9to5Mac predicts that Kuo predicted an iPhone without a lightning port in 2021 which will be replaced with USB-C, as one might guess. This will make the 2021 iPhone a completely port-less device relying completely on wireless charging. But this change would only occur in higher-end iPhone models.
Apple has introduced three iPhones each year since 2017 and next year was expected to be no different. But as per reports earlier this year about the expected iPhone SE2 and also there was speculation about a potential fifth model.
5 iPhones to Expect in 2020
Here are the expected 5 iPhones that Apple is expected to release in 2020:
1. iPhone SE2
This is the real successor to the original iPhone SE but it will be inspired by the newer iPhone 8. It’ll feature a 4.7-inch LCD with a single rear camera and modern internal components borrowed from the iPhone 11. The price has not released right now but it should be the cheapest iPhone when it is released.
2. iPhone 12 Pro
This 5G-ready phone is going to replace the iPhone 11 Pro. Ming-Chi Kuo thinks it will be packed with a triple-camera setup with a new Time-of-Flight sensor including a larger 6.1-inch OLED display.
3. iPhone 12 Pro Max
This model will have the same internal components as the standard iPhone 12 Pro packed with a new 6.7-inch display instead of the 6.5-inch panel that Apple currently has.
4. iPhone 12 Plus/Max
The name of this model is yet to confirm which will replace iPhone 11. Kuo thinks Apple will have a dual-camera setup once again, with the main upgrades being the introduction of an OLED display and 5G network support.
5. iPhone 12
To address the needs of those users who are looking for a compact smartphone that’s still powerful, Apple is developing a 5.4-inch iPhone that will be somewhat similar to the iPhone 12 Plus when it comes to technology under the hoods.
The iPhone SE 2 Plus and a portless iPhone Pro are expected in 2021
In the year 2021, it appears Apple will continue with its process of releasing five iPhones every year. Ming-Chi Kuo hopes the Cupertino-based tycoon will launch a so-called iPhone SE 2 Plus in this year that’ll feature an all-screen design.
The standard iPhone 12 might get a switch to OLED next September and adopt the existing iPhone 11 Pro front panel design. The iPhone SE 2 Plus might appear to be the regular iPhone 11. You might expect some minor changes though.
This smartphone is believed to either a 5.5-inch or 6.1-inch display that’s paired with Touch ID rather than Face ID. Apple is planning to integrate the former into the smartphone’s side-mounted power button, which means the notch will be tinier.
